Mother's Day Tote Bag

A friend of mine shared with me her experience this past Mother's Day (May 10) and I thought it was such a great way to show how a promotional product can benefit your business in ways you may not even think of.

Getting away for a weekend can be so relaxing, but when you are treated with a getaway weekend for Mother's Day then it is even more special.

Upon arriving at the hotel my friend (and every lady) was given a tote bag with a box of chocolates in it, and a warm sentiment to have a Happy Mother's Day. Who can resist chocolate? Now when those chocolates are gone, what does one do with the tote bag - which by the way was branded with the name and logo of the hotel. Definitely it would not get thrown away with the empty box of chocolates.

Well, one takes that tote bag and puts a book and suntan lotion in it and heads to the pool, or stashes some snacks in it and heads out for a hike or to the park. Perhaps one could even use it to put gifts in to take home to the kids. That tote bag, which maybe cost the hotel a few dollars, just might be one of the biggest advertisement tools it has ever had. Not the ad in the newspaper or the billboard on the interstate - but a simple tote bag that will be carried around to many different places across the town, state, country and perhaps even internationally.

Unknowingly the person carrying the tote bag advertises for the hotel. Someone asks "Oh, you went to XYZ Hotel - how was your stay?" Thus, opening up a conversation leading to another customer staying at "XYZ" hotel!

The hotel gains a new customer and the small amount of money spent to buy the tote bags has paid off a thousand times over!

If you would like customized ideas for your next event or promotion contact me at nowand4ever@sc.rr.com A tote bag may not be appropriate for your clientele. However, with thousands of promotional products available, we are bound to find a few items that will help you to gain new customers and reach your goals.

I would like to thank Cindy of http://www.girlshorseclothes.com/ for her idea for this blog post.

Ad Specialties Across America

Ad Specialties Across
America

Want proof of the versatility of ad specialties as an advertising
medium?

Welcome to Ad Specialties Across America,
a special feature that examines how ad specialty items
are being used at events throughout the whole country.
From spring break parties in Florida and a bowling tournament
in Nebraska to an incentive trip in Alaska and an
anti-drug march in Montana, we covered an event
in each of the 50 states that took place within the
past six months. And we asked one very simple
question: How were promotional products used in
the marketing or promotion of the event?
The result is not only an impressive display of
the sheer versatility and usefulness of promotional
products, but also a guide for the wide variety of
customers that distributors can call on these days.
When’s the last time you sold products for a
bar mitzvah? We’ve got that covered – in Michigan.
Looking for a way to get a foot in the door
at your local school? Check out our report from
a science fair in Connecticut. Have a big carnival
coming to town? Make sure to take a look at our
first-hand account of how promotional giveaways
are vital to corporations connecting with fans of a
massive rodeo and fair in Austin, Texas.
Of course, we also have a bar opening in California,
a dentist association trade show in Arizona,
street teams marketing a concert in New York, and
a Safari Club meeting in Colorado. Oh, there’s also
basketball promotions (it was NCAA tournament
time in March, after all), charity drives, a political
rally, and one barbecue contest in North Carolina
where a pig-shaped trophy is the big prize.
Yes, we spanned the map looking for some of
the most unique ways that promotional products
are used at events.

Roping In Customers At A Rodeo - Texas

LuAnn Steele is a happy camper. The mother of two young kids – Tyler and Jennifer – simply can’t contain her enthusiasm for a certain item she just put on her head. “I just love this,” Steele says about the bright red bandanna emblazoned with Dodge Truck logos that is holding her dark brown hair in place. “I need something to hold my hair up when I’m cleaning the house and gardening. I go through these things so quickly, so I’ll definitely put this to good use.”

Steele is an attendee of the Star of Texas Fair & Rodeo, which took place in Austin from March 13-28. She’s one of thousands of Texas locals who are bombarded by corporate messages and giveaways during the two-week event. In fact, on the night Steele came, it was
Dodge Truck night at the rodeo. The first 2,000 people to pull into the parking lot driving a Dodge truck received the very bandanna that Steele is sporting. Mixed with a concert and Pro-
Rodeo competition each night, this annual Austin staple includes a carnival for kids, livestock auctions and outdoor fair cuisine at its finest. One of the main attractions three times a day? Pig races. Yep, the little porkers run around a short track – four at a time – and the crowd gets whipped up into a frenzy. On this late March day, pig number three took home the gold
medal in the 6:00 pm race. It was a popular pick, as the audience of about 200 cheered their favorite pigs on.

Oh, and of course there are companies just dying to attract the attention of these folks and the more than 10,000 people who come to the event every day – companies like RedMan and Grizzly. The two chewing tobacco brands each had a tent at the rodeo where marketing reps hand out samples of their products, as well as some promo products to remember the company by. Call it The Battle of the Tobacco Brands. “We’re meeting 100-200 people a day here,” says Rodney Smith, a representative from Mobile Marketing Solutions, the marketing firm hired by Red-Man to promote its items at the fair. “It’s a great opportunity to connect with consumers who are interested in our products.” And to continue that connection when consumers leave the
rodeo, the two brands are handing out promo items. Grizzly is giving away pens, koozies, notepads, and plastic bags emblazoned with Grizzly logos and marketing messages so visitors can tote their samples around. RedMan, operating out of a booth fit for a trade show, is handing
out T-shirts, pens, stickers and magnets. Plus, the company has logoed guitars, sweatshirts and televisions on display in its booth at the rodeo. Every person who comes into the RedMan booth walks away with a koozie. For this brand, and with this audience, it’s the most effective promotional product. “We’ve done the research on the rodeo audience,” Smith says confidently.
“We know they drink a lot of beer and they’ll use these things to keep their beer cold. These will get a lot of use. They’ll be cooling a lot of beers around Austin for the next year or so.
That’s good for the brand.” – AC

At Your Admin Service - Success with Promotional Products!

I purchased pens and magnets from Now and Forever Creations to promote my business, At Your Admin Service http://www.atyouradminservice.com as well as my window cling.

The pens are an outstanding quality, as well as the magnets are. Theresa Reeise, owner of Now and Forever Creations, was excellent to work with. Her wonderful customer service and great follow through kept me informed each step of the way. I will definitely use her business again when I need to re-order.

When I attend networking events, I cannot tell you how many wonderful comments I get from the other business owners. Everyone can always use another pen and by having my business name and website right on there, my business gets the exposure...and you know that people love to get free stuff.

And, everyone at the networking events see my window cling too! It's like having a commercial on my vehicle. It lets everyone know that I own a business and shows them what I do and where to find more information. The window cling is fantastic.
I get many, many comments about it. It's on the back window of my vehicle so that everyone can see it. The colors and clarity came out excellent. There is no problem seeing through it while I'm driving. I've had it for just over a year now and it's still in perfect shape. Here is a picture of it:

So, if you're looking for some promotional products for your business, give Theresa a call (803-727-7928), or send an email (nowand4ever@sc.rr.com), and she'll be able to find what you're looking for.

Thanks, Theresa, for helping my business succeed!

Happy Spring!

It is spring break at our house and the kids are climbing the walls already! They have plenty of things they could be doing, but I think that complaining and whining are just second nature. We have definitely been taking advantage of the beautiful spring weather and working in the yard, cleaning out the garage, and washing the windows. In spite of the whining, the kids have already enjoyed riding their go-kart, playing with the dogs, going to the arcade, and watching movies - besides playing the ever-present game systems!

Spring has a way of bringing people outside and thinking about going to gardening events, having BBQ's, and spending time in the sun or at the beach.

With spring events in mind be prepared to offer your customers customized headware! Everyone needs a hat or visor to protect them from the elements - and a hat or visor customized with your logo and/or ad is the perfect give-a-way or promotional item to be selling in your store!

These visors are just one example of what is available to promote your business in the headware category! Minimum order is 144 pieces. For more hat ideas visit my website at http://www.nowandforevercreations.net/ or email me at nowand4ever@sc.rr.com and I would be glad to put together a custom presentation for you!

How about pens, silicone bracelets, letter openers, or lanyards?
There are some great spring deals going on right now, so contact me to take advantage of the sales and specials. Celebrate spring with the perfect promotional product!
Happy Spring to everyone!

ASI Advantages Roadshow

Yesterday, March 26, 2009, my husband and I attended the ASI (which stands for Advertising Specialty Institute) Advantages Roadshow. The roadshow is a small scale trade show for promotional products distributors. It is an alternative to the large trade shows that ASI sponsors in 5 big cities throughout the year.

At the large trade shows there are hundreds of vendors, tons of education and fun entertainment to take advantage of, taking place over about 3 to 4 days.

With the ASI Advantages Roadshow there are about 35 to 40 vendors/exhibits, and 3 to 4 hours of education, taking place in the space of about 6 hours!

We attended the Roadshow in Charlotte, NC.

At these distributor events we get to see the latest innovative products and get to meet the vendor representatives up close and personal! We collect lots of free samples that we can show to our customers as well!

We had a great time at the Roadshow! We attended an educational class which was very informative, and met lots of new vendors and got some great ideas!

One great product I would like to share with you is The Bookkeeper. It's the Book Lover's Bookmark. It is made of flexible scratch-resistant plastic. The Bookkeeper keeps your place and keeps your book closed. Perfect for books, notebooks, journals and preventing loose pages from falling out. Best of all, it's customized especially for you! Place your company logo on the Bookkeeper and people will take it everywhere with them! The Bookkeeper has a durable elastic loop that provides the proper tension for a variety of different-sized books.

The minimum order for The Bookkeeper is 150 if you want one spot color, at $2.00 each. If you would like full color, the minimum order is 2500, at $1.75 each.

I have some samples on hand! If you would like one just reply to nowand4ever@sc.rr.com with The Bookkeeper Sample in the subject line. Include your name and shipping address and I will get it right out to you!

Sticking to Your Budget

The past week has been a crazy, busy whirlwind with my oldest son home on spring break from college. He brought home a friend, too, so the household was extra chaotic. I don't think I have ever washed as much laundry, or cooked as many meals as I have this past week! However, it was also a joy to have them here and spend time with them.

While they were visiting, we began to talk about budgets. Budgeting money and time is one of the most talked about subjects right now with our current economic situation. A college student is definitely on a limited budget and must learn how to spend wisely both his/her money and time or grades will surely suffer.

And so it is with our businesses. Even with an economic downturn, we must still advertise what we sell to keep our name foremost in everyone's mind when they are looking for your particular product. Whether it be a widget or a leather coat that you sell, you want consumers to be able to have that "ah ha" moment when they are trying to remember where they can go to get the best deal on what they are interested in buying.

Being on a budget means we have to make wise decisions when deciding on promotional products to get our company noticed. For help in making those wise decisions ask us for ideas that will help you to stay within your alloted budget.
We can give you ideas for hundreds of items that are under $1.00 per piece, and thousands of product ideas that are under $5.00 per piece.
Advertising is essential to any business to help it grow and succeed. Let us help you with just the right promotional product. Contact us today at nowand4ever@sc.rr.com or visit our website at http://www.nowandforevercreations.net
